Overview
The Annotations feature in Patient View allows you to capture notes directly on patient documents and findings. You can use annotations to keep private reminders, share information across your team, or coordinate care with colleaguesâeven those outside of Anthuria.
Annotations are flexible:
Take private notes just for yourself.
Share team-visible notes with other Anthuria users in your organization.
Mark notes as follow-ups to send tasks and questions directly via email.
Adding an Annotation
Open Patient View and select the patientâs record.
Locate the document or finding where you want to add a note.
You can add notes to general document sections.
You can also add notes directly to an ICD-10 code or AI-generated finding. In this case, the note will automatically include the code, description, and AI explanation as the note subject.
Click Add Note.
Choose the note type:
Private â only visible to you.
Organization â visible to all Anthuria users in your organization.
Type your note and click Save.
You can also use the Hide Note option to temporarily hide or show annotations while reviewing documents.
Coordinating Care with Follow-Ups
Annotations arenât just for notesâthey can also help with care coordination.
After creating a note, select Mark as Follow-Up.
Enter the recipientâs name or email address.
You can send follow-ups to anyone in your organizationâs contact list. They do not need access to Anthuria.
Send the follow-up.
What the recipient sees
Recipients receive an email from notifications@anthuria with your note included.
With a single click, they can:
Approve (e.g., confirm a diagnosis is still active).
Decline / Not Approve (e.g., mark a diagnosis as no longer relevant).
Reply with additional context to continue care coordination.
All replies are captured via email, allowing back-and-forth collaboration without requiring the recipient to log in to Anthuria.
Example Use Cases
Clinical Coding: Confirm whether a diagnosis from hospital discharge should be coded in-facility.
Care Planning: Flag possible conditions (e.g., depression) and request assessments (e.g., PHQ-9).
Team Collaboration: Share important findings with MDS coordinators, DONs, or other staff members.
